Feeling: itchy.
Listening: a fly buzzing around my ears.Current favourite beverage: I stole a bottle of creaming soda from the fridge today. my mum told me not to drink it. but I did. rebellious.
Yes, I did go and shut myself in a huge bookstore all day on Thursday. I spent all my money there, I didn't have enough for nice t-shirts (T_T). Owh well. I hope it's worth it.
And, yeah fine, I'll tell you what books I bought. I'm just telling you, I'm not a book reviewer and I haven't read any of these books yet.
Hahah, my FRESH FRUiTS photo book. Nice memories. It's a bit damaged now since when I was just into street fasion back in 2007, I took it everywhere with me. EVERYWHERE. I even took it into the plane with me when I went overseas. And it is quite a heavy book...
Yes, yes. We all know that I'm not the best photographer in the world. I'm just sleepy. The new books are in the pile up in the front:
- The Kamikaze Mind by Richard James Allen
- The Best Creative Nonfiction Vol. 3 edited by Lee Gutkind
- NANA Vol. 3 and 4 by Ai Yazawa
- Wrong About Japan by Peter Carey
- The Tokyo Look Book by Philomena Keet
I went to the poetry section and found this. Well, it was hard to find all the sections because Kinokuniya arranged all their sections differently (Little brother: "OMG THEY TOOK AWAY ALL THE MANGA!!"). So there I was, in the poetry section, trying to find something deep and meaningful, when I just lost interest and picked this up. In this book, it's a bit like a dictionary. Random words are put in alphabetical order, pages and pages of them, with a witty phrase relating to each word. I like.
I was rushing because I had to go home, and I had just enough to buy another book, so I picked this one up. I think it was the colours. And the fact that I'm totally fed up with fiction books at the moment. I'm thinking far too much about the real world these days. I just can't think of anything fantasy-ish at the moment... I get far too frustrated at it. I dun noes why...
I'm not gonna talk about NANA because it's a manga we probably all know about anyways. So..
Wrong About Japan. It's basically about some white guy and his son living in Japan. And since it was only $10... yeah.
I saved the best til last. OMG OMG I WANTED THIS BOOK SINCE FOREVAAAAR (well, since this time last year.) I think I talked about this book before, and how I couldn't find it in Kinokuniya when I finally got the money for it. Well, I have it now. Kekekeke. It's basically a lowdown on Tokyo's street fashion, and it has some interviews with some designers and such and such. I don't feel like I'm such a fan of Japanese street fashion specifically anymore, I think after reading other sources on fashion I pretty much take inspiration from anywhere these days. But I'm still happy I've got the book after such a long time ^_^
Ah, I'm such a bookworm.
Oh yeahs. I wanted to tell you guys that I've started to design my own t-shirts. I'm just at the sketching/making-the-graphic stage, so... And saying that I've started something doesn't necessarily mean that I'll finish it... yeah that always happens. I hope it doesn't this time! I hate procrastination. It practically rules my life. Grr.
Cyas.
Hey i like Tshirts too so if you finish any designs post them up so i can check em out.
